Do the therapies REALLY work?

Dr. Steven Thorp, Clinical Psychologist, answers common questions about PTSD.

Transcript

Many Veterans who come into my office wonder

if these therapies work, and it's a great question,

it's the same question that I would ask, myself.

And the short answer is, yes, they work for most people

who come in and get the treatments, and the treatment lasts.

So if people come in for the treatment, it might only be four

or five months of treatment, and it could last for years,

we actually have evidence of that now.

So even though these treatments are hard to start

and it's a little bit scary starting anything new,

we know that they work, they work well.
