Combining the Hound Summit Team and combining professional therapy has really worked for me.

MAJ Joshua Brandon (US Army, 2002 - present) talks about what PTSD treatment was like.

Transcript

I'll do what I call John Muir natural therapy

which is where, just going on hikes.

We started the Hound Summit Team because doing mountaineering,

TJ and myself and a couple of other soldiers that had worked

for me started mountain climbing and first we just kind

of did it 'cause the mountain was there and then we realized,

hey, we had renewed self-confidence.

It made me feel better than any other kind of medication

that I'd ever been on.

I felt better than coming out of a therapy session and realized,

hey this is something to it.

John Muir even said, the best medicine you can have is

from the outdoors.

And kind of combining the Hound Summit Team

and combining professional therapy has really worked

for me.
