Something I want to share with our OEF OIF Vets in particular
and our Gulf War Vets also, I can sincerely tell you
that the combat Vets
of my generation have made a pact among themselves.
We were disrespected.
No one should go through that, but we did.
But we made a pact among ourselves not
to let any other service people today to go through that.
I'm not patronizing you when I say this.
One thing you need to know about me and that is,
if I say it, I stand behind it.
Take it to the bank 'cause it's gonna cash.
Talk with your Vietnam Vets.
You know, some of the most forgotten Veterans are the
Veterans of Korea and most of our WW2 guys are gone.
So, folks, by default, we're it
and you better get your running shoes
on because we're not gonna be here that long.
Any legacy that we want to leave,
we understand the only way that we can help our comrades
that died alongside it, is to pray for them,
but we also learned that we can honor
by helping the new Veterans.
That's you folks.
Again, reach out.
We're down the corner from you.
We're in your town.
We're in your state.
Most of us will tell you straight,
we're going to treat you like a true.
You can man up, because we'll man up.
I've laid it out here and maybe said more than I wanted to,
but if just one of you, one of you steps up and goes
and helps yourself, that helps your family.
Then, it's worth it to me.
