Once you suspect or once a diagnosis has been made

for PTSD, you need to try and be as involved as possible

in supporting that person in their care.

And also, I would say, raise your awareness

or have your antennas up to even the slightest disturbance

because these are the people more at risk.

I think we're losing a soldier a day to suicide,

which is something that's just unconscionable for us.

So, even the smallest disturbance you notice in your loved one,

you need to make sure that you take the extra time

during your busy day -- dealing with your kids, your wife,

your loved ones, your business, whatever it is --

to make sure that that person's OK.

You need to know that that small interaction

and that small caring can actually prevent something

tragic from going further.
