The biggest thing was realizing I'm not alone, I'm not the only one that's dealing with this.

Eddie Hoffman (US Marine Corps, 2001 – 2010) says that talking with someone who has been through similar things will help you realize you aren't alone.

Find somebody that's
nonjudgmental that you trust

and try
talking to them about it.

Maybe something that, you know,

has been through
some similar things.

That's what I did.

And it allowed me to

come to terms with it
and realize I'm not alone.

That I guess
that's the biggest thing for me

was realizing
that I'm not alone,

that I'm not the only one
that's dealing with this.

It's only natural to kind of
have a an aversion to

thinking about those things,
to talking about them.

But it's definitely helped me

and it's helped a lot of other
veterans that I know of that,

you know, been able to work
through a lot of these things.
