Being the lead pallbearer for his funeral, I really fell apart.

Rick Collier, US Marine Corps 2002 - 2006, talks about when he knew he needed to get help for PTSD.

Transcript

Shortly after my return from Iraq,

my best friend died in country.

And with being the lead pallbearer for his funeral,

I really fell apart between the traumas that I had witnessed

and been a part of and his burial, it really put me

over the edge emotionally, physically.

My body really started to shut down and I started living

in a whole different world within.

And I went UA and tried to commit suicide.
