Beth Talbott (Wife of a Veteran with PTSD) talks about how PTSD treatment changed things.

After his CPT treatment, there was a huge difference

in the way Bill reacted to being out in public

and how he reacted to just daily living

and socialization with people in general.

He used to have a huge problem being out in stores

and being in restaurants and being with clerks

and interaction with people, and that's dissipated a lot.

He used to be very critical of waitresses and clerks

and things in stores, and that's no longer present.

He used to have a lot more nightmares

than what he does now, and those have dissipated.

He used to be very, more vigilant that what he is now --

he's still vigilant, but not as vigilant.

He used to have a lot of trouble of being claustrophobic

and being in, like in a mall and being in lots of

confined places, and so a lot of that has dissipated.

So there's a huge difference.

And he's much more able to deal with conflict.

He and I used to have a lot of trouble just having one-on-one

conversations about discussions, just general discussions

that a married couple would have,

and so things are a lot, a lot better.
