After [the first session] I wanted to go back.

Jerry Boggess (US Army, 1962 - 1986) talks about what PTSD treatment was like.

Transcript

When I first walked
in and saw my therapist,

I was just about ready to
walk back out,

because she was a very
petite young lady.

Probably old enough to
be my daughter.

And in my mind I said,
this young lady has no idea

what I've been through, and
I am not going to be able

to relate to her anything
that I ever did.

Well, I tell you what,

that's not true.

And after about 30 minutes
of talking on the

first session,

I wanted to go back.

I was ready to go back.

In fact, I could've
probably stayed there

the rest of the week and
talked to her.

She was just that good.

There was just something.

She was ready for me.

I wasn't ready for her.

But she made me ready.

She was good.
