4th of July has always been my favorite holiday...

Sherie Warner, US Army 2001 - 2007, talks about when she knew she needed to get help for PTSD.

Transcript

Fourth of July has always been one of my favorite holidays,

and I was really looking forward to it, and me and my husband

and my kids all went to the park to watch the fireworks.

We had our lounge chairs and our cooler and everything,

you know, "All American, here we go!"

And then the fireworks started.

And I was fine, I wasn't scared, I wasn't sad,

but my body was reacting.

I was shaking, tears were streaming down my face,

and I couldn't stop it, it was completely uncontrolled.

And that's when I knew I wasn't OK and that

there was a problem, something was wrong with me.
